Napoli Defeats Roma to Take the Lead

The central match of the 13th round of Italy's Serie A featured a clash between Roma and Napoli. On this late autumn evening, Napoli played more efficiently in attack and opened the scoring just 10 minutes before the end of the first half.

Antonio Conte's players launched a swift counterattack, where Rasmus Højlund set up David Neres to go one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Neres's strike put the visitors ahead.

During the second half, Roma had more possession of the ball but failed to capitalize on their chances. The attacking line looked weak, prompting head coach Gian Piero Gasperini to make several changes.

Midway through the second half, Paulo Dybala was brought onto the field. Napoli maintained a solid defense and continued to neutralize Roma's offensive efforts.

Roma struggled to even approach Napoli's penalty area. Only in the final minutes of the game did Roma create a single opportunity, but a 15-meter strike from Tommaso Baldanzi was saved by Vanja Milinković-Savić.

Thus, Napoli defeated Roma with a narrow margin and secured 28 points, achieving the same tally as AC Milan in the standings. However, due to additional performance indicators, the "Rossoneri" retained the lead.

Inter completed the top three with 27 points, while fourth place was occupied by Roma (27 points). The competition in the league standings remains intense.
