Yamal: I Am Not Striving to Be Messi

Lamine Yamal has long been labeled as the "new Lionel Messi." However, the 18-year-old footballer remains far from attempting to emulate the Barcelona legend.

"I consider Lionel Messi the greatest footballer of all time, but he also knows that I am a good player. If we were to play against each other, there would be mutual respect.

He knows I am not striving to be like him or to wear his number ten jersey. I want to walk my own path," Yamal told CBS.
