Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery shared his thoughts on midfielder Ross Barkley's injury. In the last match against Wolverhampton, Barkley came on as a substitute during the second half but was replaced shortly afterward.
"Barkley's injury turned out to be more serious than we initially thought. I can't say for sure how long he will be out, but he could be sidelined for approximately 8-12 weeks.
I hope this period will be shorter. Unfortunately, he was providing great support for us and was very close to becoming a regular starter," Emery stated during a press conference.
On Wednesday, Aston Villa will face Everton away as part of the English Championship. The match will kick off at 10:30 PM Moscow time.
