
Former Italian football midfielder Gianfranco Zola has been awarded the title of honorary representative of Italian sports worldwide. This title was presented to him by diplomat Inigo Lambertini.
Currently, Zola serves as the vice president of the Lega Italiana Calcio, the governing body of Italian football. As a player, he represented clubs such as Cagliari, Napoli, and England's Chelsea.
Zola retired from professional football in 2005. He later ventured into management but did not achieve significant success in this field and eventually left coaching.
