Messi Shares Thoughts on His Prospects for World Cup 2026

Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi has shared his thoughts on Argentina's chances at the upcoming FIFA World Cup. The tournament is set to take place in the summer across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The Argentina national team will enter the tournament as the defending champions. In 2022, the "Albiceleste" claimed their third World Cup title in Qatar.

"Can the success of 2022 be repeated? I think so.

The team will strive to win the World Cup again and will exert maximum effort. However, certain minor factors could hinder success.

Any opponent could potentially present serious challenges,” Messi said in an interview with ESPN. Additionally, Messi, an eight-time Ballon d'Or winner, has yet to confirm whether he will participate in the 2026 World Cup.
