UEFA Penalizes Ukraine


UEFA has sanctioned Ukraine, specifically the Ukrainian Football Association (UFA). According to UEFA's decision, Ukrainians are fined €19,000: €10,000 for fans invading the pitch and €9,000 for the use of pyrotechnics in the stands.

These violations occurred during the ongoing 2026 World Cup qualification match against Iceland. Additionally, UEFA reviewed a case regarding a banner displayed by Ukrainian fans about Russia.

This banner was observed in the stands during the Euro 2024 qualification match against Bosnia and Herzegovina. UEFA deemed the content of the banner political and provocative.

For this violation, UFA was fined an additional €15,000.
