A thrilling match took place on Friday in the French Championship. "Lille," positioned fourth on the league table, hosted third-placed "Marseille" at home.
The first half of the match did not feature many goals; however, fans witnessed one moment of scoring. In the 10th minute, due to an error by Marseille’s goalkeeper Jeronimo Rulli, Ethan Mbappe opened the scoring.
Mbappe received a long pass, dribbled past the goalkeeper, and delivered a precise shot. It is possible that Rulli misjudged the situation due to the smoke covering the field.
In the second half, Marseille had more possession as they attempted to equalize. However, they struggled to create significant scoring opportunities.
It was only in the 76th minute that Marseille had a genuine chance, thanks to Mason Greenwood's individual brilliance. He entered the penalty area and struck a precise shot, but Lille's goalkeeper made a miraculous save.
This was Marseille's first shot on target. A few minutes later, Geoffrey Kondogbia attempted a long-range strike, but the goalkeeper once again demonstrated reliable performance.
The match concluded with a 1-0 scoreline. Lille defeated Marseille and added 29 points to their tally.
Meanwhile, Marseille also remains with 29 points but holds the third position due to goal difference (+20 compared to +12). Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
