Arne Slot Explains Why Salah Was Not Substituted

The head coach of Liverpool, Arne Slot, responded to questions regarding his decision to leave Mohamed Salah on the bench. On Saturday, the Reds recorded a 3-3 draw against Leeds in the latest round of the English Premier League.
In this match, Liverpool missed the chance to secure a victory as their opponent equalized in the 96th minute. The Egyptian star watched the entire game unfold from the substitutes' bench and did not come onto the pitch.
"We were ahead 2-0 and then 3-2. At that moment, it was crucial for us to maintain control of the game rather than focus on scoring more goals.
Normally, when we need a goal, I bring Mohamed on. For example, I did that in the recent match against Sunderland.
But this time, we needed players of a different type, which is why I opted for Endo," Slot explained in an interview with BBC. Mohamed Salah has now gone three consecutive matches without starting for the team.
Additionally, he has not appeared at all, even as a substitute, in two of those matches. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
