
Cremonese and Lecce clashed in a fiercely contested match during the 14th round of the Italian Championship. Early in the game, Nikola Shtulić missed a promising opportunity to score, while Lecce forward Lamek Banda also failed to capitalize on a counterattack.
At the beginning of the second half, Yari Vandeputte was brought down in the penalty area, prompting the referee to award a penalty. Federico Bonazzoli's shot was nearly saved by the goalkeeper, but the ball found its way into the net, making the score 1–0.
In the 78th minute, Alessio Zerbin delivered a cross, which Antonio Sanabria headed into the goal, extending the lead to 2–0. As a result, Cremonese secured their second consecutive victory and climbed to eighth place in the standings.
Lecce, meanwhile, remains in 14th place for now.
