He emphasized that Uzbek football is developing rapidly every year and strengthening its position on a global scale. "It's no coincidence that the Uzbekistan national team qualified for the World Cup. They are a systematically working generation, a strong and disciplined one," Kanchelskis said.
Accusing Russian clubs of not paying attention to the Asian market, the expert added:
"There are many talented players in the region close to us, in a friendly atmosphere. Russian clubs should start taking Uzbek players seriously."
Abdukodir Khusanov - a new face of Uzbek football
Today, the first name mentioned when discussing Uzbek football is Abdukodir Khusanov. The 21-year-old defender was formed in the "Bunyodkor" system, then began his professional career at the Belarusian club "Energetik-BGU."
