Dmitriy Cheryshev Praises Safonov's Performance

Former Sevilla head coach Dmitry Cheryshev shared his thoughts on the prospects of Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov securing a spot in Paris Saint-Germain's (PSG) starting lineup. In the last two matches, Safonov replaced the injured Lucas Chevalier and took to the field as the starting goalkeeper.

In these games, he managed to keep a clean sheet and made several critical saves. Cheryshev noted that in major clubs that play attacking football, goalkeepers have no margin for error.

"Safonov's role is to save the team. Right now, he is doing this job well.

In these matches, he saved PSG multiple times. If he is performing well, then everything is on track," Cheryshev said in an interview with the publication "Championship."

PSG's next match is scheduled for December 13. On this day, the team, under the guidance of Luis Enrique, will face Metz away as part of Ligue 1's 16th round.
