In the 14th round of the German Bundesliga, Bayer Leverkusen hosted the inconsistent “Cologne” on their home ground. By the 10th minute of the match, the hosts came close to opening the scoring: after Kristian Kofanen's strike, the goalkeeper narrowly managed to deflect the ball to a corner.
Luca Waldschmidt delivered two consecutive dangerous attacks: first, the ball went just wide of the goalpost, and shortly after, the goalkeeper saved his team. Following a corner kick, Robert Andrich's header also missed, going just past the post.
In the second half, Malik Tillman was left unmarked but failed to take advantage of the opportunity, sending the ball off-target. In the 66th minute, after an assist from Arthur Soares, Martin Terrier scored a spectacular backheel goal, opening the scoring.
Just six minutes later, after another corner, Andrich delivered a precise header this time, doubling the lead. Following this victory, Bayer climbed to fourth place in the tournament table, overtaking Hoffenheim.
Meanwhile, Cologne occupies the ninth position. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
