Atalanta Defeats Cagliari 2-1

Atalanta, positioned in the lower part of the Serie A standings, hosted Cagliari in Bergamo on Saturday. From the start of the match, the home team seized the initiative.

Initially, Ademola Lookman tested the goalkeeper from inside the penalty area, and although he was the first to reach the rebound, his shot did not find the target. Three minutes later, Davide Zappacosta found his teammate in the penalty box, and Gianluca Scamacca delivered an elegant backheel strike to open the scoring.

For nearly an hour following the quick goal, the game lacked intensity. In the second half, Sebastiano Esposito’s assist enabled Gianluca Gaetano to equalize with a precise shot.

However, just six minutes later, Scamacca capitalized on a pass from Lazar Samardžić with a one-touch finish to restore Atalanta's lead. More chances followed: Nikola Zalewski orchestrated a dangerous attack, but the goalkeeper rescued his team.

As a result, Atalanta secured only their fourth win of the season, climbing to 11th place. Meanwhile, Cagliari remains in the lower part of the standings, sharing the fourth-from-bottom spot with another team.

Game goals: Scamacca in the 11th and 81st minutes, Gaetano in the 75th minute.
