Today, December 14, "Real Sociedad" head coach Sergio Francisco officially announced his departure from the team. Following this announcement, information has emerged about potential candidates for the vacant position at the Spanish club.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the "Real Sociedad" management is considering two specialists for the head coach role: Thiago Motta and Pellegrino Matarazzo. Thiago Motta's most recent position was with "Juventus."
He left the club in March 2025. Previously, he also worked with "Bologna," "Spezia," and "Genoa."
Pellegrino Matarazzo, meanwhile, has been unemployed since November 2024, following his departure from the head coach position at "Hoffenheim." After 16 rounds of the Spanish league, "Real Sociedad" currently sits in 15th place on the league table with 16 points.
