Juventus Ends Draw Streak Against Bologna

In the 15th round of the Italian championship, Bologna hosted Juventus on their home ground. The last five encounters between the teams had ended in draws, and this game also saw a long period of evenly matched play.

Early in the match, Juan Miranda delivered a free kick toward the near post, which Tommaso Pobega redirected to the right corner of the goal with a single touch, but the goalkeeper made a save. The rebound was then attempted to be finished off by Riccardo Orsolini, but a defender blocked the shot.

Later, on the left edge of the penalty area, Kenan Yildiz shot under pressure, but the goalkeeper managed to deflect the ball. For Juventus, Jonathan David and Weston McKennie continued their offensive efforts, but an apparent goal from David was ruled out for offside.

In another chance for Bologna, Nadir Zortea struck the ball near the corner of the goal area, but the goalkeeper saved it, with the ball hitting the crossbar. In the second half, Francisco Conceição accelerated an attack down the right wing, and Yildiz took a shot from the edge of the penalty area. The ball, deflected by a defender, went out past the right post.

In the 64th minute, Juventus played a short corner with Conceição: Yildiz made a precise cross from the right wing into the center of the goal area, where an unmarked Juan Cabral headed the ball into the left corner of the net — 0-1. In the 69th minute, after a long ball from the visitors' goalkeeper, Lois Openda was nearly through on goal in a one-on-one situation.

Torbjørn Heggem stopped him with a rough challenge and was shown a red card. Ultimately, Juventus secured a 1-0 victory, overtaking their opponents and moving them down to fifth place in the league standings.

The match took place at the “Renato Dall'Ara” stadium in Bologna.
