In 2025, Chelsea have once again failed to beat Bournemouth: the teams’ latest meeting also ended in a 2–2 draw. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.
In the 6th minute, the visitors created a dangerous chance from a throw-in: the goalkeeper saved David Brooks’ header, but Brooks immediately followed up the rebound to open the scoring — 0–1. Chelsea responded quickly: in the 15th minute, Cole Palmer calmly slotted a low penalty inside the left post — 1–1. Soon after, in a Bournemouth counterattack, Brooks threatened again with a shot into the near corner, but once more Chelsea’s keeper produced a brilliant save to rescue his side.
In the 23rd minute, the hosts went ahead: Enzo Fernández controlled the ball inside the box and finished precisely into the top-right corner — 2–1. However, Chelsea’s lead did not last long: in the 27th minute, after another throw-in, Trevoh Chalobah misjudged a header and Justin Kluivert fired into the right corner with one touch to make it 2–2. Before the break, both sides had chances: Alex Jiménez’s effort at the near post flew over the bar, while Estevão’s header went just wide of the post.
In the second half, Chelsea increased the pressure. Estevão broke in from the left and struck low from near the edge of the box — the goalkeeper leapt to push it out for a corner. In the next episode, after Pedro Neto’s pass, Bournemouth’s defence headed the ball clear, and Enzo Fernández, from a good position, blasted over the crossbar.
After the draw, Chelsea sit 5th in the league table, while Bournemouth are 6th, though they remain close to the lower positions.
