Aston Villa’s winning run came to an end at the Emirates Stadium, losing 1–4 to Arsenal. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.
The Birmingham club had won 11 straight matches in all competitions and had closed in on the Gunners in the Premier League table. However, the expected upset did not happen on the trip to London.
“Football is about the here and now. Our previous results were very good. Maybe more was expected of us today because of our position in the table, but the most important thing now is to analyse what happened,” said Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery.
After 19 rounds, Aston Villa remained third with 39 points. Arsenal lead the table with 45 points.
