Monaco head coach Sebastien Pogonoli commented on Takumi Minamino’s injury. The Japanese midfielder suffered a knee injury in the French Cup match against Auxerre and will undergo a lengthy rehabilitation. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.
According to Pogonoli, he spoke with the player by phone. The coach stressed that he hopes Minamino will return as soon as possible, but added that ahead of the World Cup at the end of the season it will not be easy for him to make the squad.
Calling “Taki” a true professional, Pogonoli said the player will do everything he can to speed up his recovery, while the club will be ready to welcome him back and fully support him throughout rehabilitation. The coach also noted that Minamino is a player everyone in the team likes.
