Former CSKA midfielder Aleksandr Grishin praised Lecce’s match against Juventus in Round 18 of Italy’s Serie A. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.
Eusebio Di Francesco’s side, sitting 16th in the standings, returned from Turin with a 1–1 draw.
On Match TV, Grishin noted that with this squad Lecce are generally where they belong, but the result against Juventus was a sensation.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 45th minute, and in the second half Juventus netted the equalizer. The Turin side could have snatched the win, but Jonathan David failed to convert an 11-meter penalty.
This dropped points did not allow Juventus to break into the top three — Luciano Spalletti’s team remained in 4th place.
