A significant change has been observed in Manchester United's coaching staff. Portuguese specialist Ruben Amorim has been dismissed from his position. The club's press service issued an official statement regarding the decision, specifically mentioning Amorim's short-term work with the team.
The statement notes that Ruben Amorim took charge of the team in November 2024 and led Manchester United to the Europa League final in May. However, the club's management took the situation in the Premier League into account: the Mancunians are currently in 6th place in the league table. For this reason, the club stated that it had decided that "it's time to change the situation."
The club's management believes this step should create an even better opportunity for the team to compete for the top spots in the Premier League. At the same time, United thanked Amorim for his contribution and wished him success in his future career.
One of the most important updates: Darren Fletcher will lead the team in their next match - Wednesday against Burnley. Thus, the Scottish former player will take charge of Manchester United until the end of the season. Fletcher had previously worked with the club's U-18 team.
