Como head coach Cesc Fabregas commented on the team’s performance and progress after a 3–0 win over Pisa. The match was played as part of Serie A’s 19th round. This was reported by euro-football.ru reports .
The coach noted that while the result is important, the main focus is on the team’s development. Fabregas described Pisa as a well-prepared, combative opponent and stressed that during the game Como had to adjust certain details and look for solutions to improve the connection between the lines.
Despite their high position in the table, Fabregas believes it is still too early to talk about the title.
According to him, teams like Inter, Juventus, Napoli and Milan can talk about the championship, while Como are not discussing that topic right now.
Looking ahead, Fabregas also made it clear that the club intends to develop more local talent in Italy. He noted that it makes sense for Como to have more Italian players and expressed hope that in 2–3 years the results in this area can be discussed from a different perspective.
The coach also singled out and praised Anastasios Douvikas, who has been shining in attack. Fabregas said he works tirelessly for the team, has the right mentality, and emphasized that the 26-year-old still has plenty of room to grow.
After 19 rounds, Como are fourth with 33 points, while Pisa remain 20th with 12 points.
