Manchester City officially announce Antoine Semenyo transfer

One of the biggest transfers so far in 2026 has been completed: Manchester City have signed Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth. The deal is worth — £62.5 million, with an additional £1.5 million in bonuses also included.
The 26-year-old Ghanaian winger has signed a long-term contract with the Citizens running until the summer of 2031 . That means Guardiola (and the club) see him not as a “one-season option”, but as a strong long-term project.
Semenyo’s form this season is a story in itself: in the Premier League he has 10 goals and 3 assists in 21 matches . Last season he was consistent as well, registering 11 goals and 5 assists in 37 games , bringing major value to his team.
His journey is interesting too: he developed at Bristol City and also played for Sunderland at the next stages. Now it’s the biggest stage in England and a club with the highest demands: Manchester City.
For fans, there’s one key question: what does Semenyo bring to City? The answer is roughly: pace, strong one-v-one ability, breaking defensive lines and, most importantly — a nose for goal. Competition at the Etihad is fierce, but he’s exactly the type who keeps a squad “alive”.
In short, City have started 2026 in the transfer market with a “big step”. Next up is Semenyo’s first game in the new shirt and that classic scenario: once he hits top speed, the opponent’s defence drops out like Wi‑Fi.
