Wayne Rooney ready to return to Man United if Michael Carrick becomes head coach

Wayne Rooney said he would have no doubts about returning to Manchester United as a coach. He noted that, especially if Michael Carrick were to take charge of the team, he would immediately agree to join the coaching staff. BBC reported this. This was also reported by euro-football.ru reports .
Rooney mentioned Carrick, his former teammate at the club and with the England national team, as one of the leading candidates for the vacancy left after Ruben Amorim’s resignation.
“Whether it’s Carrick or another coach, the club needs people who know it from the inside. The team has lost its identity. I’m not going around asking for a job—just so everyone knows: if there’s an offer, I’d agree to work on the coaching staff,” Rooney said.
After 21 rounds, Manchester United are seventh in the league table with 32 points.
