Former Parma, Milan and Belarus national team striker Vitaliy Kutuzov spoke about the years he worked with Claudio Ranieri. This was reported by euro-football.ru reports .
Kutuzov worked with the Italian specialist at Parma: at the time, Ranieri steered the team away from the risk of relegation to Serie B.
“On the eve of Christmas we were on the brink of going down, Pioli was sacked — things still weren’t working. Then Claudio came back and changed everything: the team and our position in the standings. He’s usually capable of producing miracles, even if it doesn’t look like he’s doing anything huge,” Kutuzov was quoted as saying by Chempionat.
He noted that Ranieri’s greatest strength was discipline: the coach tried to reach each player individually and could unite the team around a single goal.
Kutuzov recalled that Ranieri once called him a “very good” footballer. He also mentioned that Domenico Morfeoni flourished under the coach, while Fernando Couto found a “second youth.”
