Goals from Urunov and Sergeev secured the victory for Persepolis

One of the key clashes in the 17th round of the Iranian championship was decided in favor of Persepolis. The Tehran team defeated Sepahan 2-1 at home, and the Uzbek players played a decisive role in this victory.
The turning point of the match came in the 53rd minute. Oston Urunov opened the scoring and put his team ahead. After this goal, Persepolis' confidence grew even more, and Sepahan was forced to seek an answer.
Not long after, the second goal arrived. Igor Sergeev, who came on as a substitute in the 72nd minute, found the back of the net after an accurate pass from Oston Urunov. This was recorded as the striker's first goal for the Reds - achieving such effectiveness is not for everyone.
However, the match didn't end easily. In the 5th minute of stoppage time, Sergeev received a red card for a foul. With this, Persepolis suffered a one-man deficit in the final minutes, and the pressure at the end of the game intensified further.
The most interesting thing is that the extra time lasted a long time. In the added 13th minute (!) Sepahan earned a penalty, and Ricardo Alves converted it to make the score 2:1. However, there was very little time, so the visitors didn't manage to equalize.
As a result, Persepolis sits in 1st place in the league table with 31 points. Interestingly, the defeated "Sepahan" also has exactly 31 points, but the team remained in 2nd place due to goal difference (or extra points).
