In the central match of the 24th round of Ligue 1, Marseille and Lyon fought on equal terms at the Vélodrome, with the outcome decided in the final seconds. This was reported by euro-football.ru reports .
The visitors opened the scoring in the 3rd minute: after a quick counterattack, Corentin Tolisso delivered an accurate shot. Shortly after, Mason Greenwood was close to equalizing after a pass from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but the goalkeeper saved the situation.
At the beginning of the second half, Roman Yaremchuk failed to capitalize on a goal-scoring opportunity. Marseille, however, succeeded in their counterattack – Igor Paixão scored an accurate shot from outside the penalty area, leveling the score at 1:1.
In the 76th minute, Lyon took the lead again with a swift attack: Endrik Remy Imbert provided a convenient pass, and he finished accurately, making it 1-2. However, in the 81st minute, after a corner kick, Aubameyang scored with one touch, restoring balance – 2:2.
In added time, Ethan Nwaneri delivered the ball into the penalty area, and Aubameyang calmly finished, giving Marseille a volatile 3-2 victory.
Following the result, Lyon remains in third place in the tournament table, while Marseille narrowed the gap to two points.
