Borussia Dortmund working on Benjamin Pavard transfer

After establishing himself at Bayern Munich, Benjamin Pavard moved to Marseille following a short stint at Inter. However, the French defender's future is currently in doubt. Although the player decided to return to France last year, trusting the Marseille project, the team's results this season have not met expectations. This is reported by Goal.com reports .
Despite a strong start to the season, Marseille later faced a crisis. Roberto De Zerbi was dismissed, and fan protests along with changes in club management negatively impacted the team's atmosphere. As a result, it is rumored that after Benjamin Pavard's loan contract expires, the club may decide against signing him on a permanent basis.
The 15 million euro purchase option is proving too expensive for Marseille, especially as the team falling out of European competition spots makes this transfer impossible. The defender played 36 matches this season but failed to show consistency, committing serious errors in several games.
Aware of the situation, Borussia Dortmund is exploring the possibility of signing the defender. The experienced player is seen as a low-cost option for the summer transfer window. If the deal goes through, Pavard could return to the Bundesliga.
