Rodri fined for criticizing the referees

The English Football Association (FA) has decided to take disciplinary action against "Man Siti" leader Rodri. The Spanish midfielder was punished for openly criticizing the referees' performance after the 2-2 draw against "Tottenxem" in the 24th round of the APL.
The controversy was caused by a goal scored by "Tottenxem" striker Dominic Solanke. Rodri was unhappy with the decision of head referee Robert Jones, claiming that a foul had occurred during the play. In his interview, he mentioned that people do not want "Man Siti" to succeed because they win too often, and that referees must be neutral. The player's words were assessed as a statement casting doubt on the referee's impartiality.
The FA classified this incident as "improper conduct." According to the final decision, Rodri was fined 80,000 pounds sterling and received an official warning. It is reported that during the investigation, the "Man Siti" representative fully admitted his guilt. This event once again showed how intense the debates over referee-player relations and game rules can become in the APL.
