The Uzbek women's boxing team took part in the matches held within the framework of the Asian Championship and finished the competition with 2 silver and 3 bronze medals. Our compatriots demonstrated their skill and determination at this prestigious tournament in Ulaanbaatar.
Silver medals were won by Aziza Zokirova in the -75 kg weight category and Rukhshona Parpieva in the -80 kg category. They confidently made their way to the final and fought to the end in decisive fights.
Three more of our boxers also won bronze medals. Nigina Uktamova in the -57 kg weight category, Aisha Toirova in the -70 kg category and Oltinay Sotimbaeva in the +80 kg category achieved worthy results in clashes with strong rivals. They reached the semifinals and defended the honor of our country with dignity.
These results once again confirmed the consistent development of women's boxing in our country. It was felt that each athlete fought in the ring not only for victory, but also for national pride.
Now the focus is on the men's matches. In the final fights on April 10, 5 representatives of the Uzbek national team will enter the ring for the championship. Fans are also expecting high results from them.
In short, the competition in Ulaanbaatar is not over yet - the main intrigue is ahead. Now it's the turn of the men's team: either history will be written, or a hard lesson will be learned. And the fans are waiting with great hope.
