Foundation for the future: Reforms at the Referees Academy

In the first part of the meeting, the issue of improving the scientific and practical foundations of the field was considered. A new approach will be introduced to the activities of the Referees Academy under the UFRC. The main focus will be on the following:

  • Organizing theoretical and practical training for young referees based on modern requirements;
  • Creating all necessary technical conditions for talented personnel to improve their skills;
  • With the aim of appearing on the international stage, referees' learning foreign languages will be given special emphasis.

Super League 'victims': Why were referees punished?

The Committee analyzed the errors made in the recent rounds of the Super League one by one. The decisions of some referees during the matches had caused objections not only from the teams but also from the fans:

  1. Firdavs Norsafarov ('Surkhon' – 'Bukhara')was warned for not using uniform criteria in evaluating game rules (a two-sided approach). warned.
  • Nayim Qosimov ('Andijon' – 'Navbahor')was warned for negligence in ensuring discipline on the sidelines, particularly for not being sufficiently strict with the actions of the 'Andijon' head coach. warned.

The harshest punishment: Exile to the First League

The harshest decision was made at the meeting regarding the match between 'Kokand-1912' and 'Nasaf'. The gross errors made in this encounter were deemed unforgivable:

  • The chief referee Rustam Lutfullin and the VAR referee Ibrohim Ismoilov were suspended from Super League, Pro League, and Uzbekistan Cup matches until the end of the first round for their negligent approach to their duties.
  • As an additional penalty, their category was lowered, and they were demoted to the First League.
