How did Italy react to Basaksehir signing Shomurodov?

A new phase has begun in the club career of Eldor Shomurodov, captain of the Uzbekistan national team and one of its most prolific forwards. It has been officially confirmed that he has moved permanently from Roma to Istanbul Basaksehir. This transfer has simultaneously drawn attention from both sporting and financial perspectives.

According to the Italian publication ROMAFOREVER.IT, the entire process was carried out according to a pre-arranged scheme. The mandatory purchase clause in the contract automatically came into effect because the Turkish club retained its place in the Superliga. Thus, Eldor's chapter with Roma has been fully closed.

Shomurodov had previously moved to Istanbul Basaksehir on loan. The agreement included an option to buy for €2.8 million, which was later exercised. Before that, a loan fee of €3 million was paid for the player. In total, the deal was concluded in two stages.

From a financial standpoint, Roma had planned this transfer in advance. The club not only received revenue but also secured a beneficial clause for the future – a 10% share of any subsequent sale. This is considered a potential additional source of profit for the Italians.

The Turkish press, including GZT.COM, also confirmed this transfer, evaluating Shomurodov as one of the team's key figures. He quickly adapted to head coach Nuri Sahin's system and secured a solid place among the main forwards.

Statistics put everything into perspective. Born on June 29, 1995, the 190 cm tall forward played 40 matches in his first season in Turkey, scoring 19 goals and providing 5 assists. These figures made him one of the team's most effective players.

Currently, his stable form and goal-scoring ability are attracting the attention of other clubs as well. In particular, there is information that Fenerbahce, one of the leading teams in the Turkish Superliga, is also monitoring him. This indicates a further increase in his market value.

At the same time, one of the biggest tests for Shomurodov is approaching – the World Cup. The Uzbekistan national team is expected to participate in a historic mundial, and Eldor's experience and form could be decisive factors here.

In short, this transfer was a well-calculated business decision for Roma, and for Istanbul Basaksehir, it was an opportunity to acquire a ready, effective, and experienced forward. Most interestingly, with his current form, Shomurodov is attracting attention not only in Turkey but also in bigger leagues.
