Former Argentina national team striker Sergio Aguero has revealed the plans of his close friend Lionel Messi regarding his future at Inter Miami. According to Aguero, the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner will decide on continuing his career in the United States based on his physical condition and family well-being. Currently, Messi feels happy in Miami and is pleased with the affection from local fans, Goal.com reports.
Aguero noted that Messi's decision will be made known in the coming months, specifically after the conclusion of the World Cup and the MLS season. "Leo always listens to his heart. If he feels physically strong and his hunger for victory remains, he will continue to play. I don't think he is thinking about 2028 yet, but for a player of his level, even five minutes on the field is a great result," Aguero said.
Aguero also touched upon the dream of Barcelona fans. In his view, Messi returning to the Catalan club for a proper farewell at the Camp Nou would be a true fairy tale for every supporter. However, this transfer also remains dependent on the player's physical capabilities. Messi became the greatest legend in the club's history, scoring 672 goals in 778 matches for Barcelona.
The former striker also responded to rumors regarding Brazilian star Neymar. Aguero expressed a strong desire to see Neymar move to Inter Miami and reunite the "MSN" trio with Messi and Luis Suarez once again. He emphasized that having such legends play in MLS is of immense importance for the development and spectacle of American soccer. However, the probability of Neymar returning to Europe is low, as he is currently in a phase of his career focused more on enjoying football.
