Kai Rooney returns to training after serious injury

Manchester United academy graduate Kai Rooney has moved into a new stage of recovery after a serious injury. The son of club legend Wayne Rooney had not featured since March, but he is now continuing training at the Carrington base. Goal.com reports.
The young footballer shared encouraging news with fans by posting a photo from the training ground on social media. The 16-year-old forward left a brief caption on his Instagram page, saying: "I have started running again," showing he is in an optimistic mood.

Kai Rooney had been impressing under Darren Fletcher this season, but a serious thigh injury halted his progress. A month ago, the player said the season had ended early for him and promised to return stronger next season.
Before the injury, the young talent had already made his debut at Old Trafford. In just 119 minutes, he scored two goals and provided one assist, demonstrating the goalscoring ability inherited from his father.
This is not the first serious test for Kai. He suffered a leg injury in September 2025 after being called up to the Under-19 national team.
Even so, club coaches and experts continue to praise Rooney's mental resilience and finishing ability.
