John Stones to leave Manchester City after a decade-long career

Man City defender John Stones has officially announced that he will leave the club at the end of the current season. The English footballer will become a free agent after a successful ten-year career at the Etihad Stadium. Goal.com reports on this.

The 31-year-old defender announced his decision through an emotional video on social media. Since being transferred from Everton in 2016, he became an integral part of the team, taking the role of a modern defender to a new level under Pep Guardiola.

In his address, Stones emphasized that the club has been home to him for ten years, stating that he arrived as a young boy and is leaving as a man. In Manchester, he won 19 trophies, including six Premier League titles and the Champions League trophy.

Over the last two seasons, Stones' playing practice has decreased due to injuries. He has not appeared in the starting lineup in the Premier League since October.

Despite this, the defender aims to help the team win new trophies until the end of the season.
