Klopp expresses hope for Wirtz to shine at the 2026 World Cup tournament

Former Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp shared his thoughts on the future of German national team member Florian Wirtz. The specialist expressed confidence that the young talent will perform successfully at the next World Cup hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Goal.com reports this.
Klopp noted that Wirtz possesses all the necessary qualities to be a top-level player. Liverpool paid 125 million euros to Bayer for the playmaker in 2025.
So far, the player has not yet fully justified the large sum spent on him during his first season at Anfield.
“I don’t want to put any pressure on the lad. I sincerely believe he can show how strong he is even in a difficult season,” Klopp said in an interview with the BBC.
Currently managed by Arne Slot, Liverpool sits in fourth place in the English Premier League and has dropped out of the title race.
Florian Wirtz made his debut for the German national team in 2021 and has scored 10 goals in 39 matches so far. The 22-year-old footballer practically secured his place in the World Cup squad by scoring a brace in a friendly match against Switzerland.
