According to journalist Gilyem Balague, Arsenal representatives were dissatisfied with the condition of the pitch during the pre-match training session. Believing that Diego Simeone used special methods to disrupt the opponent's play, they called on UEFA inspectors to check the grass.

As a result of the inspection, the grass height was found to be 26 millimeters. According to the regulations, a grass height of 21 to 30 millimeters is permitted, so UEFA found no violation.

Previously, Barcelona and Tottenham clubs had also complained about the condition of the grass at this stadium.

The uncompromising match in Madrid ended in a 1-1 draw. Viktor Gyokeres opened the score from a penalty, while Xulian Alvares scored the equalizer for the hosts.

Now the return match between the teams will take place at the Emirates stadium in London.
