Although initial negotiations revolved around Robert Lewandowski, the striker's high salary demands proved to be a financial hurdle for Milan. Subsequently, attention shifted to Zahavi's other client, 33-year-old David Alaba. The fact that the experienced defender's contract with the Madrid club is nearing its end is seen as a favorable opportunity for the Italians.
Milan's coaching staff highly values Alaba's versatility. He can play equally well as a central defender, full-back, or defensive midfielder. This could significantly strengthen the team's defensive line.
Nevertheless, the player's injuries in recent years are a concern for the club's management. It is suggested that Alaba's physical condition and long-term absences could hinder his ability to perform consistently in a demanding league like Serie A.
