Vincent Kompany wanted to keep Nicolas Jackson at Bayern

Bayern forward Nicolas Jackson is expected to leave the club at the end of the season. Although the player was in head coach Vincent Kompany's plans, financial factors are hindering the transfer. This is reported by Goal.com reports .

According to an interview given by German football legend Lothar Matthäus to Sky90, Kompany fully believes in Jackson's skills and wanted to keep him in Munich. However, the player's transfer fee is proving too expensive for the Bayern board.

Jackson is currently on loan from Chelsea. Although Bayern paid 16.5 million euros for the loan last year, the 65 million euro permanent buyout clause is considered too high for the club's budget. Sporting director Max Eberl confirmed that the player will return to Chelsea once the loan period expires.

The Senegalese forward has made 33 appearances for Bayern this season, scoring 10 goals and providing 4 assists. Although his contract with Chelsea runs until 2033, the London club's future plans for him remain unknown.
