Joe Gomez does not rule out leaving Liverpool

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has admitted there is uncertainty regarding his future at the club. With one year remaining on his current contract, the player has openly stated he could leave during the summer transfer window, according to Goal.com .

The 28-year-old defender, who has seen his playing time decrease under Arne Slot, has started only six Premier League matches over the last two seasons. Meanwhile, the club is looking to refresh its squad by bringing in younger defenders.

In his interview, Gomez stated: "Anything can happen. To be honest, I don't know what will happen. I have one year left on my contract, but whatever is meant to be, will be. I will always be grateful for the 11 years I spent at Liverpool."

Gomez, who joined from Charlton in 2015, has made 272 appearances for Liverpool, winning the Premier League, Champions League, and many other trophies. Clubs like Newcastle United and Aston Villa are showing interest in him.

Liverpool's management must make a decision soon: extend the player's contract or put him on the transfer list this summer to avoid losing him for free. New contract talks with Ibrahima Konate and the arrival of new defenders could further reduce Gomez's chances of staying at the club.
