Real Madrid presidential candidate aims to sign Rodri

Manchester City midfielder Rodri has become a key topic in the upcoming Real Madrid presidential elections. Presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme openly praised the Spanish national team member, emphasizing that he represents exactly what the "Royal Club" is missing in the center of the pitch. This is reported by Goal.com .
Riquelme fueled transfer rumors by stating that the 2024 Ballon d'Or winner, Rodri, would be a perfect signing for Real Madrid. Ahead of the elections on June 7, the 37-year-old businessman did not hide his interest in one of world football's most influential players. In an interview with ESPN, he expressed his intention to bring the Spanish star back to his home country.
"I really like this player; he is a great footballer and has the profile that should be in the Real Madrid squad. But he is currently at another club and we must respect that. Rodri is a player who should play in a Real Madrid jersey. We will talk about this in more detail starting Saturday," said Riquelme.
The presidential race is heating up, and Riquelme is relying on the club's tradition of major transfer promises. He has already claimed to have reached verbal agreements with two international stars. Although he did not officially confirm Rodri's name, he hinted that one of his targets will represent Spain in the upcoming World Cup.
This strategy is reminiscent of Florentino Perez's famous 2000 campaign. At that time, Perez shocked everyone by promising to bring Luis Figo from Barcelona. Riquelme believes his "Galactico"-level transfers will excite fans and lead him to victory in the election.
