Rafael Leao could move to the Premier League: He chose Manchester United

AC Milan winger Rafael Leao has fueled speculation about his future, openly admitting his affection for English club Manchester United. The Portuguese star's future at the San Siro remains in doubt as the club failed to secure a Champions League spot. This situation could force the Italian giants to sell their leader to maintain financial balance, reports Goal.com reports .
Speaking on the Cernucci podcast, Rafael Leao revealed that he follows the Premier League and named the teams he admires. "I like Manchester United. Because my idol is Cristiano Ronaldo, and I used to watch the team regularly when he played there. I also like Arsenal," the forward stated. Manchester United has long been interested in signing the talented footballer.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, although the 26-year-old expressed his desire to stay at Milan during a conversation with club advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the management views him as a sellable asset. For a club that finished fifth in Serie A, revenue from the Europa League is insufficient, necessitating activity in the transfer market.
Furthermore, Massimiliano Allegri's departure and tactical changes could influence the player's decision. The 3-5-2 system under Allegri forced Leao to play more centrally rather than on his preferred wing. Now, everything depends on the new coach's plans and the club's financial situation.
Currently, Rafael Leao is focused on the Portugal national team. Roberto Martinez's squad will face DR Congo, Uzbekistan, and Colombia in the 2026 World Cup group stage. A final decision on the player's club future is expected after the international tournament.
