Marcos Senesi signs four-year deal with Tottenham

Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi has agreed to join Premier League rivals Tottenham, signing a four-year contract with the club. The 29-year-old Argentina international will officially move to North London as a free agent on June 30, following the expiration of his current deal at Vitality Stadium. This is reported by Goal.com .
According to talkSPORT, Tottenham have won the race for Senesi, formalizing an initial agreement reached in April. The Cherries had been prepared to lose the center-back since he rejected a new contract last December. Despite serious interest from clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, Juventus, and Atletico Madrid, the South American chose to commit his future to the Spurs.
This transfer is a key part of the squad overhaul under manager Roberto De Zerbi. The coach decided to strengthen the team following a disappointing season. After the victory over Everton, De Zerbi stated: “We are closing one chapter and opening a new one. We have little time to prepare for the upcoming season and build a stronger team.”
Tottenham has also signed free agent Andy Robertson and plans to significantly reshape their defense with Senesi. The defender made 37 appearances in the 2025-26 season, providing 5 assists and helping Bournemouth secure a historic sixth-place finish. His line-breaking passes will offer De Zerbi a tactical alternative to the style of Micky van de Ven.
Senesi will need to bounce back quickly after being left out of Argentina's final World Cup squad. Meanwhile, Bournemouth faces a difficult transition period as manager Andoni Iraola is in talks to join Bayer Leverkusen. The club's leadership must work to retain key players like Ryan, Eli Junior Kroupi, and Alex Scott ahead of their debut Europa League season.
