Instagram unfairly blocks innocent users
Due to Meta’s automated systems, many users on Instagram and Facebook are being unfairly blocked.

As a result of the blocking, people lose years of photos, memories, and income earned through their pages. Some lost their clients, while others lost the most important moments of their personal lives. Worst of all, innocent people fear police investigations and fall into depression.

For example, Yasmine from the Netherlands had been running her family business through Instagram for five years. But suddenly, her page was shut down, and she lost more than 5,000 clients. Lucia from Texas was blocked for two weeks as a “rule breaker” even though there was no reason.

Former British teacher Ryan was also unfairly blocked several times. Instagram even admitted the mistake, telling him: “You have not violated any rules.” Nevertheless, his page was shut down again and has not been restored. Ryan fears being seen as cut off from society and even as a criminal.

Experts say Meta relies too heavily on artificial intelligence systems. Because the human factor is ignored, wrongful blocking continues. This greatly harms ordinary people’s lives and unfairly turns innocent individuals into “criminals.”
