KOAH raises $5M to bring ads into AI-powered apps

According to TechCrunch, AI startup KOAH has raised $5 million to launch a platform that introduces advertising directly into AI applications. Their goal is to create a new type of ad experience embedded in tools like chatbots, personal assistants, and other AI services.

Unlike traditional pop-ups or banner ads, KOAH envisions a system where the AI subtly includes relevant product or service suggestions during natural conversations. For example, if you ask for travel advice, the AI might also recommend a sponsor’s product or service — intelligently and contextually.

The company’s founders emphasize that user experience and content quality come first, meaning ads should feel useful, not disruptive. The funding will help the team develop infrastructure and begin initial tests with advertising partners.

It’s not yet clear which venture firms participated in the round, but KOAH plans to roll out pilot partnerships in the coming months.

Could this be the beginning of a new ad model inside AI tools? Would you welcome smart, helpful ads — or prefer your AI totally ad-free?
