Chrome automatically deletes unwanted notifications sent by websites

Chrome will automatically disable unnecessary notifications sent by websites

Google Chrome browser has introduced a new feature that will automatically disable notifications from sites that the user is missing, reports the Rozetked.me website.

The new change will be available on desktop and Android versions. This change will not affect notifications from web applications — it will apply only to regular websites, meaning notifications from sites to which the user has given no response will be disabled.

According to Google, less than one percent of all web notifications get a response from users. Tests have shown that the new system significantly reduces the number of notifications, which does not affect the total number of clicks. Interestingly, sites that send fewer notifications achieve better results in engaging with users.
