The new AR glasses from Google, which are causing a stir in the tech world, were presented to selected journalists for the first time. A representative from AndroidPolice was able to test this mysterious gadget personally. Although Google did not allow the device to be photographed, the journalist shared their impressions. According to the expert, the design of the glasses resembles the previously demonstrated Project Aura, but it looks much more compact and modern. The device fits very comfortably on the face, and its display can provide a clear image even in bright rooms. The main advantage of the glasses is the integrated Gemini artificial intelligence.
The user can activate the Gemini Live voice mode by pressing a button. Using the built-in camera, the system analyzes the environment and provides detailed information about objects. For example, it can recognize works of art and tell information about the artist. The process of working with the Google Maps service was also highly rated. When the journalist asked for directions to a stadium in "Barcelona", the system showed the exact route using directional arrows on the screen.
For now, the device is operating under operator control, which indicates that the project has not yet reached the final stage. Nevertheless, the tester emphasized that this technology could pose a serious threat to competitors.
