iOS 27 adds iPadOS interface for iPhone Fold

Apple is preparing to introduce a new interface layout in iOS 27 that mirrors the one used in iPadOS including support for multiple windows at once according to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman. Reports Wylsa.com.
This update is designed specifically for the upcoming foldable iPhone which is expected to have an inner display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a 7.8 inch diagonal size similar to that of an iPad mini.
When folded the device will show the standard iOS interface on its 5.5 inch outer screen complete with the Dynamic Island. However the island is said to emerge from a small dot as the phone will reportedly not include Face ID.
The first foldable iPhone is anticipated to be unveiled in September alongside new burgundy colored iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models. The changes suggest Apple aims to make the foldable device function more like a mini tablet when opened providing users with enhanced productivity features.
