Vivo may offer higher capacity batteries for older smartphones

According to insider Digital Chat Station, Vivo is currently exploring the possibility of launching a battery replacement service for older smartphone models. As part of this initiative, users will be able to replace old batteries in their devices with new power cells based on Blue Ocean technology. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .
The most interesting aspect is that the capacity of the new batteries is expected to be 500 to 1500 mAh higher than the original elements. This will significantly increase the battery life of older smartphones, giving them a second life.
Experts believe that at a time when memory chip prices are rising and smartphone usage periods are extending, it is becoming an important strategic direction for manufacturers not only to release new models but also to extend the service life of sold devices. Such service offerings could be a new stage of market competition.
Previously, Xiaomi launched a similar program for the Xiaomi 13 series. For example, the battery of the Xiaomi 13 model was increased from 4500 to 4850 mAh, and the Xiaomi 13 Ultra model from 5000 to 5500 mAh. Vivo is planning to apply this experience on a wider scale.
