President receives US delegation
On March 17, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Carol Miller, a member of the United States Congress, a member of the parliamentary caucus on cooperation with Uzbekistan.

The issues of further development and expansion of strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States were considered.

At the beginning of the meeting, the member of parliament conveyed to the head of our state the greetings and best wishes of the US President, the leadership of Congress, and members of the caucus on Uzbekistan.

It was noted with great satisfaction that bilateral cooperation has reached a high level. Active political dialogue and interdepartmental exchanges continue. In recent years, the volume of trade and investments has increased several times, and business cooperation is strengthening.

Webster University and the American University of Technology operate in Tashkent. In addition, mutually beneficial cooperation is being implemented in transport, customs, migration, culture and other priority areas.

Carol Miller highly appreciated the results of the reform strategy being implemented in New Uzbekistan, including the modernization of the economy, strengthening democratic institutions, primarily the parliament, and ensuring gender equality.

Special attention was paid to expanding interparliamentary cooperation in order to support and promote economic and investment projects, including projects in the mining, industry, energy, and agricultural sectors.

The importance of establishing partnership relations between the regions of Uzbekistan and the American states was noted.

Views were also exchanged on topical issues on the regional agenda and the situation in Afghanistan.
