Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow awarded the Order of the Highest Degree of Friendship

Following the bilateral talks, a solemn ceremony was held to present Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow with the highest state award of the Republic of Uzbekistan - the Order of the Highest Degree of Friendship.

Presenting the award, the Head of State noted Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow's great services in strengthening the traditional relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership between our fraternal countries.

- All the great achievements, large-scale reforms and the growth of the international arena of fraternal Turkmenistan are closely linked to your name, - said the President of Uzbekistan.

Sustainable economic growth is being ensured in Turkmenistan, and the well-being of the population is steadily increasing. Our President highlighted the international initiatives put forward by the national leader of the Turkmen people to ensure global security and sustainable development.

In this regard, it was noted that Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow's proposal to declare 2025 the "Year of Peace and Trust" has received wide international support.

It was noted that thanks to the personal efforts of the leader of Turkmenistan, Uzbek-Turkmen relations have reached a high level today and have become truly exemplary.

- With your personal support, a solid foundation for the strategic partnership of our states was created in 2017, - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

It was noted with satisfaction that active dialogues are taking place between the parliaments, governments, regions, businessmen, public, intellectuals and youth of our countries, programs and projects on trade and economic cooperation are being implemented. For example, in recent years, trade turnover has increased several times and exceeded $ 1 billion.

Cultural and humanitarian cooperation deserves high recognition. For example, last year, a collection of Makhtumkuli's works in the Uzbek language was presented in Ashgabat and Tashkent, and the premiere of an Uzbek-Turkmen feature film was held at the Ashgabat International Film Festival.
